This year, Sterogene Bioseparations
will celebrate over 20 years in business, supplying
novel reagents and systems to professionals in biotechnology
and pharmaceutical processing. After 20 years as an
independent manufacturer, we wanted to give our customers
and friends a new look at the company they're doing
business with. We invite you to get to know Sterogene
up close - and as always, we appreciate your input about
our products and service.
Sterogene Bioseparations, Inc. was founded in June 1985 to develop advanced chromatography media and bioprocessing systems for biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic product production.
Initially, Sterogene's R&D effort focused on chromatography resins for human plasma fractionation. The company also worked with gene therapy companies to develop scalable chromatography-based purification techniques for viral vectors in gene
therapy. Sterogene pioneered NaOH cleanable affinity media - a harsh but efficient and economical cleaning method which traditional affinity resins cannot withstand.
The company is now focused on novel technologies that
could significantly improve the economy of producing
biopharmaceuticals, such as an initial capture step
for bioprocesses using large particles in a standard
packed bed column. This eliminates expensive, rate-limiting
recovery steps that are responsible for significant
product losses, and achieves a major cost savings.
Also in our development pipeline is a selection
of IMAC resins for tagged proteins, as well as recently
optimized Cibacron Blue and Protein A resins.
