Sterogene Bioseparations - A Small Company with a Big History
For over 20 years, Sterogene Bioseparations has been manufacturing and supplying
agarose-based chromatography particles to the biopharmaceutical industry.
From universities to Fortune 20 companies, professionals around the world depend on
Sterogene as a reliable source of innovative purification products with consistent quality and superior client care.
Sterogene Bioseparations, Inc. was founded in 1985 to apply the power of advanced chromatography
media and bioprocessing systems to the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals and diagnostic products.
In its early days, Sterogene's R&D efforts focused on chromatography resins for human plasma
fractionation. This quickly expanded into more than 40 products, including:
Sterogene pioneered NaOH-stable affinity media, providing customers with a robust, efficient and economical cleaning method that traditional affinity resins in years past could not withstand. We also collaborated with gene therapy companies to develop scalable chromatography-based purification techniques for viral vectors.
Today, our resins are routinely employed in manufacture of licensed biologic products all over the world. In addition to its broad bioseparations product line, Sterogene develops novel technologies that could significantly improve the economy of biopharmaceutical production, such as an initial capture step using large particles in a novel packed bed column. This eliminates expensive, rate-limiting recovery steps that are responsible for significant product losses, thereby achieving a major cost savings.
With strong technology portfolios in custom particle manufacturing, endotoxin removal, activation chemistries, blood factor purification, and more, Sterogene remains focused on clients seeking therapeutic-grade agarose particles customized to their preferences and application-specific needs.
